Cuenta la leyenda que en tiempos remotos la araña Wale´kerü le enseñó a las mujeres Wayúu a tejer los dibujos que llaman kannas. Cada uno de ellos narra una historia y tiene un significado especial. Esta pieza fue hecha a mano con un solo hilo de hilaza de algodón para garantizar la más alta calidad y el reconocimiento internacional del sello Denominación de Origen. La elaboración de una mochila de un hilo tarda, en promedio, una semana.
Legend has it that, in ancient times, the spider Wale´kerü taught the Wayúu women how to weave the designs they call kannas. Every kanna tells a story and holds a very special meaning. This piece was handmade using a single thread of cotton yarn to guarantee the highest quality and the Denomination of Origin seal. An average mochila bag woven from a single thread is made in about a week.
